Manhattan, KS Commercial Air Purifier Services by M & S Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.

If you’ve worked in an office for any length of time, you know how stale the air can sometimes get. Most commercial buildings don’t have many windows that can actually be opened, and forced air heating and air conditioning systems really just recycle the air that’s already indoors. Being stale isn’t the biggest problem with your building’s air, though. The average commercial building’s indoor air is infested with millions of microscopic contaminants.

Things like dust, germs, pollen, insect dander, and mold spores can all be found floating around the average office building. These contaminants can make you sick, enflame allergies, and act as lung irritants. If you want to improve the quality of your business’ air supply, the first thing you need to do is install an air purifier system. Unsure which is the best air purifier for you? Then call M & S Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc..

M & S Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. offers commercial air purifier services in Manhattan, KS and the surrounding areas.

Ionization Purifiers

Ionization purifiers operate by generating an electromagnetic field around themselves. When particles floating through the air pass through the electromagnetic field, they are given a negative magnetic charge. They will then be attracted to the nearest positively charged surface, which is often a metal plate inside the purifier itself. Once the plate has collected enough particles, it can then be removed and cleaned.

UV Germicidal Lights

Not all air purifiers focus on physically removing contaminants from the air. Many of the common viruses and bacteria found inside a building’s air supply are extremely susceptible to ultraviolet light. If exposed to too much of this light, the parts of their cells that are responsible for reproduction will be destroyed. A UV germicidal light operates by sitting in your ducts and subjecting the air flowing over it to a steady stream of ultraviolet light. Any germs carried through the ducts are neutralized.

HEPA Filters

The most basic kinds of air purifiers are filters. These are simply metal or plastic frames with fiber mesh woven over them. The average air filter can capture some of the larger particles moving through it, like dust or pollen. Viruses and bacteria, however, are small enough to slip right through. Enter the HEPA filter. HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air, and is a much more finely woven filter than most. A HEPA filter’s threads are so close together, that they can capture individual virus and bacteria cells. These kinds of filters tend to be used in hospitals, or in areas like server rooms that need to remain sterile. You may not need to install one of these all over your commercial ducts, but it is a powerful option to have.

The kind of air purifier you choose should depend on the needs of your commercial space. If you aren’t sure which kind of air purifier will fit your needs best, then you should give us a call today. We’ll come out to your property and conduct an evaluation to determine which air purifier would work best for you.
